07/19/2016 (Ukraine) – On Tuesday, 19 July, media reports indicate that seven troops have been killed and 14 others injured following intense fighting over the past 24-hour period with pro-Russian separatists in the country’s eastern regions. There has been a surge in violent clashes during military operations, with Horlivka and Luhansk considered hotspots for inter-ethnic confrontation. All non-essential travel to eastern regions should be reconsidered at this time given the ongoing conflict situation. Required deployments should only be undertaken under the strictest security procedures and with journey management measures in place. Travellers are advised to partner with a trusted security provider that offers close protection and emergency response services.
