07/15/2016 (Germany) – The German government has decided to further strengthen border controls at airports on Friday, 15 July, after a truck deliberately drove into a crowd in Nice on Thursday, killing more than 80 people. According to the Federal police, security will additionally be heightened on roads and rail crossings. Those with travel plans and/or interests in France are advised to remain abreast of any security related announcement and plan for further security measures in the main cities, in transportation hubs and especially in the vicinity of the French border. Travelers should be aware that ongoing security operations may lead to substantial travel disruptions. Personnel should maintain a good situational awareness at all times and promptly report to local security forces any suspicious package, vehicle, person or activity.
