03/24/2015 (Thailand) – Parts of the Thai capital Bangkok were inundated due to sudden heavy downpours since noon on Tuesday, 24 March. The affected areas include Asok Montri Road, some sections of Phetchaburi and Ratchadaphisek roads, Soi Suan Phlu, Sukhumvit Sois 1, 2 and 24, Phloenchit Road, Mitmaitri Road near the Thai-Japanese Stadium in Din Daeng and Silom Road.

Despite Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s ongoing efforts to address the threat of inundation, several areas of the capital remain susceptible to flooding, which often leads to traffic and commercial disruptions in the affected areas. Those in Bangkok and its environs are advised to keep abreast of the flood situation and monitor the local news for weather and travel conditions in the capital. They should also heed any instructions and warnings from city officials with regards to possible road closures or rerouting due to the floods.
